Michel became Executive Director of SIL International in 2016. Before his appointment, he served as Director of Wycliffe Global Alliance for Francophone Africa, Director of Wycliffe Cameroon, and as a visiting lecturer at three universities in Cameroon. For 10 years, Michel led the Francophone Initiative, a network of various Bible agencies dedicated to building vision for Bible translation in seminaries and theological institutions across Francophone Africa. Michel holds a bachelor’s degree in French studies; a diploma of advanced studies in African linguistics from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon; and a doctorate in African linguistics from the University of Buea in Cameroon. He and his wife have five children and live in France.
