Michel became the chair of Seed Company’s Global Advisory Council after his transition from his role as executive director of SIL International in 2025, where he served since 2016. Before his appointment, Michel served as director of Wycliffe Global Alliance for Francophone Africa, director of Wycliffe Cameroon, and as a visiting lecturer at three universities in Cameroon. For 10 years, he led the Francophone Initiative, a network of various Bible agencies dedicated to building vision for Bible translation in seminaries and theological institutions across Francophone Africa. Michel holds a bachelor’s degree in French studies; a diploma of advanced studies in African linguistics from the University of Yaoundé, Cameroon; and a doctorate in African linguistics from the University of Buea in Cameroon. He and his wife have five children and live in France.
